Superhero Songwriters

There's a great interview with Malcolm Middleton at Pennyblackmusic.com.
Sophia gets two mentions in the interview (one about the song 'Superhero Songwriters' and one about touring with Sophia).

Now that we're talking about Malcolm Middleton, I just want to grab the chance to urge you to check out his new album 'A Brighter Beat'. It's bloody brilliant and I'm sure it will appeal to most Sophia fans. Check out some tracks on Malcolms MySpace.

Our superhero songwriters have one more joint UK gig at the Audio in Brighton (March 28).

It's a kind of Magic

In the current Issue of French music mag Magic, Robin was asked to participate in their monthly "C'est mon choix" (It's my choice) page. The concept of the page is that the artist has to make a number of choices, which is kinda strange as the page also includes a large number of 'normal' questions.
Anyway, this is a short summary:
- All time favourite band: The Cure (question reluctantly answered by Robin)
- All time favourite record: Harvest by Neil Young and Mezzanine by Massive Attack
- First ever gig played: Wabash Hall, San Diego with Society Line (1988)
- Best memory of a gig: The Morlocks at Studio 517, San Diego in 1984; Slint at Pyramid Club, New York in 1989; Jane's Addiction at Subterrania, London in 1990 and Nick Cave & Teh Bad Seeds at Lucerna, Prague in 1993.
- MP3 or Vinyl: both (mp3's are practical but vinyls are such nice objects)
- Sophia or May Queens: Sophia
- UK or USA: UK
- Last record bought: Back in Black by AC/DC & A Brighter Beat by Malcolm Middleton.

If you want more details, you'll have to buy the magazine.
